It is manufactured by Electrolytic Oxidation of Sodium Chloride to Sodium Chlorate using DSA Anodes. The raw material used is Sodium Chloride [NaCl]. NaClO3 is used in Bleaching of Paper and Pulp, Chlorine-di-oxide preparation, Herbicide and as Defoliant. |

2. | Potassium Chlorate [KClO3] | |
It is manufactured both by direct oxidation as above and also by double de-composition method. Initially Potassium Chlorate is prepared by electrolytic oxidation of Potassium Chloride using DSA. The raw material used is Potassium Chloride[KCl]. KClO3 is used in Match industries and Fire cracker industries. |

3. | Sodium Per-chlorate [NaClO4] | |
It is manufactured by Electrolytic oxidation of Sodium Chlorate, by using Platinum, platinum coated titanium anodes or Lead di oxide coated titanium anodes. The raw material used is Sodium Chlorate (NaClO3). NaClO4 is used in Explosive industries to manufacture Ammonium per chlorate, Potassium per chlorate, perchloric acid and other per chlorates. |

It is used as oxidizing and brominating agents. It finds extensive application in flour treatment and to some extent in cosmetics for producing cold permanent hair waves. |

Chlorine dioxide is produced by reducing sodium chlorate with hydrochloric acid and the electrochemical production of sodium chlorate from sodium chloride by Day-kesting process. It is used for bleaching of wood pulp, bleaching of flour, industrial and process waste water treatment. |
