Sodium Perchlorate is the inorganic compounds with formula NaClO4. The high oxygen content and the high stability of per chlorates make them Ideal oxidizers in fireworks and air bags and as key compounds for the preparation of ammonium per chlorate which is used as solid rocket fuel. |
Process |
Sodium per chlorate is prepared by the electrolytic oxidation of Sodium chlorate by using platinum, platinum coated titanium anodes or lead di oxide coated titanium anodes.
NaClO3 + H2O --> NaClO4 + H2
